Images and photographs are used to enhance your message whether it be on a website or printed media.
There are lots of free images available but please be very careful about how and when you use them.
An image or photograph should only be used if it
- Attracts Attention
1. Don’t Use An Image With No Clear Purpose
If the image does not inform, entertain or attract attention to your message then it may even damage your brand. A bland pointless image makes you look unremarkable, unimaginative and unprofessional.

2. Don’t Use Photographs of Strangers/Models
I am not talking about models that might be wearing your products or fashions, those images would be informative. I am talking about those awfully dull office type photographs. Much more relevant to use photographs of your own staff.

3. Don’t use Poor Quality Images.
Photographs that are badly lit, amateurish images can damage your brand and credibility. If you really have to photograph your own products, make sure you use a light box and understand how to save image files. A little knowledge can make all the difference like when to use a tripod (to prevent camera shake in low lighting conditions).
